Guideline (Beginner,Concept) Use Contribution Links from any element only to a Softgoal element. Open Version
Discussion: Contribution Links are not allowed from any element to a goal, only to Softgoals. Please refer to Section 5.5 'Contribution Links' for an explanation about Contribution Links.
Figure 1 depicts only two possible cases of wrong uses of Contribution Links (from a Task to a Goal and from a Task to a Task). There are other wrong cases, however, that the Contribution Link should not be used in such as Goal to Goal, Goal to Task, Softgoal to Goal, and Softgoal to Task.
Figure 2 illustrates all the possible correct cases of using Contribution Links to a Softgoal element using i* notation.
