Guideline (Beginner,Concept) Use the OR Contribution Links to indicate alternatives for satisficing a Softgoal. Open Version
Discussion: The Or Contribution Link can be used, even though very rarely, to select among alternative tasks to satisfy a Softgoal. This Link means that an Actor has the choice of making a selection for satisficing the quality attribute or the non-functional requirement (Softgoal). This process of selecting among alternatives is followed by an evaluation process to make judgment on the impact of each alternative on other Softgoals in the model. Alternatively, Contribution Links such as Make, Some+, Help, Unknown, Break, Some-, and Hurt are usually used to provide a combined evidence. A choice between tasks is made by the effect of these tasks on the Softgoals itself and other Softgoals.
