Scaling

7 Scaling

Models could grow in terms of the number of Actors of a model, number of external and internal elements that are associated with these Actors, the level of the refinement and decomposition of these elements, and the depth of the concepts that represent the domain of the system that is being modeled. When models grow and become more complex, scalability issues may arise. Therefore, using some guidelines that deal with these issues could help in suggesting ways of presenting complex models to the users of the models in a readable, easy to use, and usable manner. This section provides some guidelines on scaling and complexity issues.
